Right in the bustling heart of South, something special is coming to life: The Signpost. But contrary to what you might expect, this work of art is no ordinary signpost. Rather, it is an invitation to pause for a moment and let your thoughts run wild.<\/p>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The meaning behind The Signpost<\/strong><\/p>\n

What brought The Signpost to life? It actually began as a response to the need to show the soul of Hart van Zuid. The idea was to create something that would make people think about the values that truly define this vibrant community. Students Lisa, Marit, Sam and Nop from the Urban Tourism Lab Rotterdam started working on this during the first semester (September 2023 through January 2024).<\/p>\n

What makes The Signpost special? While it is not a true signpost, it does have a powerful message. It is meant to act as a kind of beacon of light, with texts that invite you to think about what is really important in life. It aims to spark conversations and encourage people to talk to each other about the things that really matter.<\/p>\n

A future of realization<\/strong><\/p>\n

What can we expect from The Signpost? Although the project is still in the design phase, the future looks promising. In the completion phase, graduate students will work to make this work of art a reality, making it a real asset to Hart van Zuid. And let’s face it, that’s something to look forward to!<\/p>\n

A look back at the Winterfair:<\/strong><\/p>\n

A highlight of the story of The Signpost was its presentation at the Winterfair, where it attracted the attention of none other than Mayor Aboutaleb. It was a confirmation of the talent and vision of the students behind this project.<\/p>\n

In short, The Signpost is much more than just a work of art. It is a symbol of community, reflection and progress. Let’s continue this journey of discovery together and let our thoughts be illuminated by The Signpost.<\/p>\n
