My name is Donagh Horgan, and I am joining InHolland as a senior researcher in urban tourism, fresh out of the port of Glasgow.

What do your activities for the Urban Leisure & Tourism Lab Rotterdam involve?
”As a teacher-researcher, I am involved in CRISP: Research on Creative, Innovative and Sustainable Practices to get adults (back) in touch with heritage.” Together with Tourism Management colleague Charlotte Beukers & students from the cultural tourism track, we are investigating some good practices of cultural institutions in corona time in the Netherlands, Ireland and Croatia. This research is part of an international Erasmus+ project.”
What is your favourite place in Rotterdam and its vicinity?
“That’s really the area around Inholland University: the Kop van Zuid, Katendrecht and Afrikaanderbuurt. Wonderful surroundings to enjoy the hospitality, the view and the atmosphere with colleagues after work.”
What are your dreams for the Urban Leisure & Tourism Lab Rotterdam?
”My dream is to work with colleagues and students in the coming years to research, develop and implement concepts in cultural tourism for the Urban Leisure & Tourism Lab Rotterdam.”
