Professor Ko Koens moderates session at European Tourism Forum 2021

Every year, the European Commission organises the ‘European SME Week’. During this week, which this time takes place both online and in Slovenia, several events are hosted. Two important events are the ‘SME Assembly’ and the ‘European Tourism Forum 2021’.

SME Assembly

The SME Assembly will take place between 15 and 17 November and is seen as the event for SMEs in Europe. The Assembly will feature a combination of high-level panels and interviews, expert roundtables, interactive workshops, informative master classes and innovative networking opportunities to help answer the tough questions our community is facing post-COVID.

European Tourism Forum 2021

The 20th European Tourism Forum will bring together EU country authorities responsible for tourism, representatives of the tourism industry and destinations, international tourism organisations and EU institutions. They will discuss effective ways to support the green and digital transition of EU tourism. The forum will also give tourism stakeholders the opportunity to share their best practices and commitments to support the dual transition and build a more resilient ecosystem.

Professor New Urban Tourism Ko Koens is moderating one of the sessions during the forum, ‘Making the transition happen – setting targets and accounting for progress’ and will share insights with experts from across Europe during European SME Week.
